In this article we make an analysis about the competitive advantages found in the ports of Panama Vs those of Colombia, taking as a point of comparison the Pacific and Atlantic coast, we take success cases and apply them to the current conditions of our ports of the Port Society of Buenaventura and the port society of Cartagena, we also made a reflection about the opportunity to improve Colombian ports related to better economic and social conditions of workers, thereby achieving better positioning at the global level, through the implementation of automation and mechanization in the operational field. Similarly, we talk about our disadvantages, emphasizing the issue of corruption as one of the main reasons for the lack of evolution and development in the port of Buenaventura, leaving us out of competition in the face of the possibility of generating cutting-edge logistics centers in the region.
